The ONS 40th Annual Congress

The 2015 Annual Congress of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) marks the 40th anniversary of the organization. Presentations and events included the tried and true and the new.

New this year was a research track for sessions presenting the latest findings for nurse scientists, streaming of 4 different mainstage lectures, and ePoster sessions that allowed multimedia versions of over 25 poster presentations.

There were more than 3100 attendees, a number that includes only nurses registered to attend the meeting. In addition, there were over 1000 exhibitors and more than 60 ONS staff on site.

Attendees revealed that the desire to expand their horizons—to gain new knowledge, to meet new people, or to breathe new life into their careers—drew them to the meeting. The annual congress offered oncology nurses personal and professional growth opportunities.

There was global representation at the ONS Annual Congress, with more than 100 oncology nurses representing 28 countries around the world, including Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Iceland, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Uruguay.
